The Mittagong Doll and Bear Show was started a number of years ago by Cherylin Cole, I took over as organizer in 1999 due to her ill health.
I decided to take the show in the direction of offering collectors the opportunity of seeing doll and bear artists who offer quality work but due to a variety of reasons do not trade at many shows during the year.
I also try to approach other traders who offer a variety of supplies and accessories for both collectors and makers. Those traders who can offer that unique piece of lace or odd accessory item to finish off or display a special doll or bear.
Mittagong is a beautiful town in the Southern Highlands, approximately 45 minutes south of Liverpool and one and half hours north of Canberra. The neighbouring towns of Bowral and Moss Vale combine with Mittagong to offer a wealth of history and wonderful craft and antique shops.
